The Lineage Trio
The journey of this album has been a long time in the making. Michael Anthony is at the center of the Lineage Trio. Over the course of his abundant and storied career he has made a name for himself as one of the most in-demand studio guitarists during the heyday of the Los Angeles recording era of the 1960’s and 70’s, while simultaneously showing himself to be an outstanding music educator. Through his honest, engaging teachings and profound lessons combining the study of music with the study of life, he has shared his love and passion for the guitar with generations of guitarists from coast to coast and influenced countless people along his path.

Claudio Tolousse is a musician, podcaster and visual artist based in New Mexico. John Maestas is a musician, educator and record label co-owner based in New Orleans, LA. Both John and Claudio were teenagers when they met Michael Anthony during their time at Manzano High School, where Michael used to teach group guitar classes. Over the years, the two aspiring young musicians took private lessons with Michael (or, “Uncle Mike”, as they call him), and their collective relationship started to bloom. John, Claudio and Michael would often get together for trio guitar hangs at Michael’s house (which they refer to as “The Candy Shop” because of all the amazing guitars displayed throughout the house) to play tunes, hone their skills and enjoy each other’s company over many pots of coffee. Michael inspires his students to be diligent, gives them the tools to discover & explore, realize & actualize their goals through focused work, and above all he teaches them to be present and enjoy the moments we share with one another.

From the Trio:
The three of us have often talked about a vision to record a 3 guitar album, and this year we have brought that vision to fruition to share with you. The stellar rhythm section of bassist Asher Barreras and drummer/percussionist Arnaldo Acosta are more than just great musicians, they are like family. This whole recording session was filled with an ambience of fun, freedom, and good vibes - a family affair. We hope you feel that good feeling that we were basking in whenever and wherever you listen to this music. We thank you for listening!
